Giving stars as was overall good, but improvment needed. Went here this morning on my lunch break, I wanted a cooked breakfast and there’s not many places to eat around the area I work. I went in there and asked about the allergen information for gluten, and they just shrugged and said they weren’t sure what I was talking about. I was met by three confused faces. I explained to them what gluten free meant and what I could have and what I asked them to check. They weren’t sure what they were checking and seem to be unaware of allergens which is a requirement by law for food to be labelled and for them to be knowledgeable about such allergens. In the end I had a breakfast and substituted sausage for extra bacon. Although while the lady was taking my order she asked if I wanted toast with it, I had to explain again that bread contains gluten. Overall it was not bad, and they were happy to substitute part of the breakfast for something else, but they could improve by becoming more knowledgeable on dietary requirements and food laws. I’m not sure if I will go back as it was nice but disappointed at lack of knowledge.Dietary restrictions: They were not aware of gluten allergy’s, only one staff member was helpful with getting the allergen book, however this looked unorganised and she didn’t look like any of them look at it often. The others seemed unaware of the allergen book, and it wasn’t their first instinct to check when I asked if certain things contained gluten.
